Email Lorien Fenton, ..................................................................................... DANCE OUTRE'S "COLLABORATION!" MISSION The mission of Dance Outre, the producers of COLLABORATION! is to give choreographers and composers — and their partner dancers and musicians — a performance opportunity to present new collaborative work to a broad audience in a professional environment. And to educate the community at large about the diversity of dance and music; especially the collaboration of choreography and composition elements, and dance-making as a whole. ..................................................................................... REQUIREMENTS ** Choreographers will adhere to the "performance time limit" set for each choreography (to be determined by the Producers after choreographer and composer teams have been chosen). Performance times will range from a minimum of 7 minutes for a solo and a maximum of 10 minutes for a larger group piece. ** Choreographers will attend a MANDATORY Production Meeting; Thursday, October 7th (place and time to be determined). ** Choreographer, along with their composer, will attend a MANDATORY PR photo shoot, on Friday. October 8th OR Saturday, October 9; (exact date, time and place to be determined). ** Choreographer agrees to present their choreography and composer their music composition, FOUR WEEKS before the live show by video. This "Pre-showing" determines placement in the live show. ..................................................................................... SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL Please submit completed — PDF version, Word version OR copied and pasted text into the body of an EMAIL — of Proposal file plus ACCESS TO VIDEO OF WORKS (via internet: UTube, Vimeo, etc.) by DEADLINE of September 24th, 2010 to: Lorien@DanceOutre.org OR MAIL HARD COPY OF PROPOSAL AND DVD TO: IMPORTANT IF MAILING: Package must arrive in CALIFORNIA PO Box by September 22nd. ALSO – please email Lorien@DanceOutre.org that you are mailing your proposal. PLEASE NOTE: The COLLABORATION! Producer is developing a "pool" of Composers who are ready to work with a choreographer for this performance. The Producer will assign choreographers a composer, rather than choreographers searching for one themselves. |

PROPOSAL APPLICATION FORM CONTENT CALL FOR CHOREOGRAPHERS 1) Bio/Resume of Choreographer. 2) Style of dance you propose to create (ballet, jazz, ballroom, tap, fusion, aerial, modern, Tango, hip-hop, swing, kathak, bellydance, dance theater, etc.). 3) Describe your proposed choreographic work. 4) Please describe briefly the style of music (jazz, rock, soundscape, Hip-hop, salsa, drumming, swing, classical, etc.) you are hoping to choreograph to, so we can pick the composer from our roster that best suits you. 5) Is your dance a Solo, Duet, Trio, or 4 or more in a Group piece? If your answer is Group, please specify number of dancers. 6) List of planned/booked/likely performances 3 months before and 3 months after COLLABORATION!; as well as the type of performance (festival, company season, etc.) and length of run. 7) Please submit your videos online and provide a link OR mail a DVD of recent choreographic work(s); If mailing a DVD please label with choreographers name, address and phone number as well as name of dance(s) on disk. The DANCE OUTRE producers regret that DANCE OUTRE/COLLABORATION! does not provide an honorarium to it's chosen participants, nor can it provide travel or housing. Although, some venue's and coproducer do offer honorariums. More information regarding your city/venue/coproducer honorarium policies will be discussed at the production meeting if you are accepted to participate. DANCE OUTRE reserves the right to invite choreographers and composers of its own choosing outside of the jury process. |
